The author's first book published in the U.S., translated from the Italian by Archibald Colquhoun. First published in 1947, The Path to the Nest of Spiders is a coming of age story set in WWII. The book follows Pin, an orphan who is forced to search for a new identity to evade the Nazis. The title refers to Pin's secret hiding place, the directions to which he touts as a prize to any adults who win his trust.
