New York: Mademoiselle de la Mole Press, 1985. Side-stapled softcover, 8.5 x 11 inches.
Near Fine. Wraps show some staining and scuffing, with light fading. Minimal wear to edges. One long (18cm) crease at upper left of the rear.
"The first book of 1985," the frontmatter states, "Mutual Aid was published at 12:01 am on January 1st in an edition of thirty-three copies, each of which is marked with a character or letter from a lost language.” Twenty-two poems prefaced by Mayer's hand-drawn cover and an interior inscription reading, "For Laura + Geoff, some Berkshire poems to while away Chinese New Year with, on the Equinox, LOVE, Bernadette (summer person) 2/85". A truly singular publication, well-preserved.
