Santa Monica: Peter Norton Family Foundation, 1997. Hardcover, Unpaginated, 9 x 8 inches.

Bound volume of offset lithographs and five laser-cut, pop-up silhouettes on wove paper

Very Good. Minute dent to front cover and slight rubbing/discoloration dots to rear, else near fine. Corners sharp, spine tight, inside pages bright and without markings. Exceptional copy of a scarce publication.

Pop-up artist's book printed in a run of 4,000. A parody of racial stereotypes and vintage children's books, this uncommon text includes small pop-up versions of Walker's famous silhouettes in telling the story of a female slave who is granted emancipation but still experiences oppression, hence the title Freedom, A Fable
