Five Plays

Sam Shepard

The Bobbs-Merrill Company, New York, 1967. First Edition. Hardcover with photo illustrated dust jacket. 170pp., 6 x 8.5 inches

Very Good, nearly fine. Rubbing to the dust jacket with .5cm of loss to the foot of the spine and a 1cm closed tear, tape repaired to verso, toward the crown of the spine. The bright red cloth boards are nearly fine with very mild shelf wear. A small .25cm nick innocuously affects the lower fore edge of the final three pages. All considered, quite clean.

The first published collection of Sam Shepard’s plays with the complete scripts of “Chicago”, “Red Cross”, Icarus’s Mother”, “Fourteen Hundred Thousand” and “Melodrama Play”. Director’s notes, casts and technical information on the original productions precede each play. Jacket design by Robert Patrick Sullivan from photographs by Hope Wurmfeld.
