Rider and Company, London, 1950. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. 60pp., 5.25 x 7.5 inches
Very Good. The fragile dust jacket has toned with age, some vertical creasing to the spine, though still quite presentable. Orange cloth boards and embossed titling are incredibly crisp with a clean interior.
A surrealistic six act play featuring characters such as Onion, The Two Bow-Bows, The Curtains, et al., with illustrations by the author.
From the preface by translator Bernard Frechtman:
"We offer a strange dish, mi-figue, mi-raisin. During the first winter of the German occupation of Paris, Picasso laid aside his brushes for three days and emerged with the present concoction. It was clearly a painter's recipe."
