A classic title from The Documents of 20th-Century Art series, edited by Robert Motherwell. This edition is based on an anthology published in France in 1965 as "Jours Effeuillés", edited under Arp's supervision by his close friend Marcel Jean, and including his writings in French. In preparing this edition, constant reference has been made to the original German versions, and some works that never appeared in French have been added, so that this book effectively represents the whole range of Arp's writing in both languages. Includes a memoir by the artist's widow, Marguerite Arp, and is supplemented by 43 examples of Arp's book illustrations.
Translated by Joachim Neugroschel.
